![]() ![]() Gabok plays a similar role for Hwang's arc that Durer does for Hilde, except he's a completely new character. Johan Durer gets elevated from a mere background element in SC4 to a major antagonist and Hilde's personal arch-enemy. To varying degrees, Hilde's, Setsuka's, and Hwang's campaigns, as well as the add-ons to Mitsurugi's and Nightmare's, all involve setting up a new band of villains following Nightmare as he and the plot as a whole approach SC2 territory. There's been no confirmation of a SC7 as of yet, but having just played SC6's Soul Chronicle mode to 100% completion, I highly doubt that Season 2's story content would have been written the way it did if there are no plans for a sequel. That, but with quotes, have the character related quote be automatic, but allow a button press to let them do generics ones as well. Similar to how in Tekken if you hold a button the character does a specific win animation. The way I would design it is for characters to have character related quotes to each other (only if they have history,) but also allow you to use generic win quotes by holding a button. And 6 hits that pretty well for the most part. Hearing Mina scream " I'lL GeT yOu NeXt TiMe!!!!!!!" every time she loses a mere round to Hwang gets annoying real fast.Ī balance is best, a system were characters can react to character specific relations while still having generic quotes is best. Its especially bad if the specific line was delivered kinda bad. If I play against Mitsurugi with Taki and win I don't want to keep hearing " You never learn do you?" over and over and over again. ![]() It just means you'd get the same quotes over and over which can comes off as a bit robotic as well. While the games I played (Tekken at the time) were all generic dialogue that ultimately meant nothing.īut over the years I've kinda come to the realization that the specific dialogue isn't great either. For as long as I could remember I was always envious of games like Street Fighter that had characters say specific things to each other. I think the way Soul Calibur 6 did it was best. It's been nearly 4 years since this title dropped, and we haven't heard any word of a new one coming any time soon - especially after the series' main producer, Motohiro Okubo, left Bandai Namco in August 2021.3.) The most recent installment in the series, Soul Calibur 6, released on October 19, 2018, and featured The Witcher series' own Geralt as a guest character on the launch roster. He followed up by letting people know that the account and image are clearly not real. "You should be ashamed of yourself!" wrote Murray. The Soul Calibur 7 mock up appears to have a silhouette of Sophitia with a bogus logo (that is clearly fake) strewn over it. "Do your souls still burn? The legend will never die," begins the fake Bandai Namco account. ![]()
